Patti Austin's “Every Home Should Have One” is a sleek early-1980s blend of sophisticated R&B, disco, funk and pop, released on Qwest Records in 1981 and produced by the legendary Quincy Jones. Taken from Austin's acclaimed Every Home Should Have One album, the track showcases the polished, studio-driven sound that defined some of the finest American soul and crossover records of the period.

Written by Frank Musker and Dominic Bugatti, the title track combines Austin's powerful yet effortlessly controlled vocal performance with an unmistakably luxurious Quincy Jones production.
